Accordance Syncing EULA
Accordance Desktop v14.1 and later and Accordance Mobile v3.5 and later will sync Accordance user files across devices using the user’s accordancebible.com account (known here as “Accordance Syncing”). Accordance Syncing replaces the third-party (Dropbox) solution in Accordance v14.1 and future versions.
Accordance user’s use of Accordance Syncing is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- Accordance Syncing will only sync user files consisting of Accordance’s proprietary file types between devices and Accordance’s servers. It will not sync non-Accordance file types. It is not meant to be used as a cloud storage drive solution beyond syncing Accordance file types between devices running Accordance and Accordance’s servers.
- Accordance reserves the right to limit file sizes per user account and/or individual file size, to allow for acceptable use.
- Accordance Syncing is not meant to be a replacement for regular backups of Accordance user files but a service to allow users to sync Accordance user files between devices and Accordance’s servers. Accordance users should remain diligent at performing regular backups of Accordance user files independently of Accordance Syncing. Accordance Syncing is provided to users “as is.” Accordance is not responsible for data loss or recovery of Accordance user files.
- Accordance reserves the right to delete inactive Accordance Syncing content (content is considered inactive if it has not been synced in 12 months.) This inactive deletion policy does not pertain to purchased apps or modules in a user’s accordancebible.com account, nor does it pertain to a user’s accordancebible.com account in general.
- Accordance users own the user files synced with Accordance Syncing. Accordance will not share the data with third parties outside of hosting the user’s files on the third-party hosting Accordance chooses to use (currently Amazon/AWS). Accordance Syncing content is encrypted while stored on the server and during transport. Accordance Syncing user files are currently stored on servers in the USA, although Accordance has the right to host Accordance Syncing user files on servers in other geographic regions in the future.
- Accordance users should only sync user files with Accordance Syncing to which they own the copyright. Accordance users are not to violate copyright laws when syncing content over Accordance Syncing.
- Accordance users should also not engage in any activity with Accordance Syncing that would attempt to harm the Accordance Syncing infrastructure, including, but not limited to: probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of any system or network, breaching or circumventing security measures, tampering with parts of the service to which the user is not granted access, interfering with or disrupting the service by spreading malware, etc., circumventing the acceptable use policy, re-selling the service, storing child sexually exploitative material and/or pornography, storing activity that would be deemed an act of violence or terrorism, violating the privacy of other Accordance users or others, storing material that would otherwise violate the law or engage in illegal activity.
- Accordance users are to safeguard their accordancebible.com accounts and are not to give out their passwords to others, as well as use safe methods for password creation (such as random, complex passwords).
- Features of Accordance Syncing may be subject to beta testing before public release. Accordance Beta Testers are bound by the conditions they agreed to when joining the Accordance Beta Program.
- Accordance users can discontinue their use of Accordance Syncing at any time and may request deletion of their Accordance user files stored on Accordance’s servers. Accordance also reserves the right to discontinue a user’s access to Accordance Syncing features (while preserving their accordancebible.com account) if they are found to be in violation of these terms or have surpassed the Accordance Syncing inactive user deletion deadline.
- Accordance reserves the right to modify these terms at any time and we will notify users as to any changes.
